Suicide panel discussion, JustPhysiology talk top week's slate

Several interesting events are scheduled for the upcoming weeks at the Medical Center.

Tuesday, July 31

Panel discussion to help understand, prevent suicide 

Dr. Daniel C. Williams, affiliate faculty in the School of Medicine, will moderate a panel discussion, "Understanding and Preventing Suicide: A Panel Discussion," scheduled from noon-1 p.m. on Tuesday, July 31, in lecture hall 122 of the medical education building.

Panelists will include UMMC faculty members Dr. Scott Rodgers, Dr. Courtney Bagge, Dr. Sara Gleason and Dr. Danny Burgess. The discussion will provide information about resources during a crisis and strategies to cope with distress.

Physiology professor to explore interactive learning environment

Dr. Robert Hester, professor of physiology and biophysics and interim chair and professor of data sciences in the John D. Bower School of Population Health, will give the Department of Physiology and Biophysics presentation, "JustPhysiology, an Interactive Environment for Learning Physiology," from noon-1 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 1, in room CW308 of the Classroom Wing.

Pathologist to explore Alzheimer's basic, translational research

Dr. Junming Wang, professor of pathology, will present the School of Medicine seminar, "Basic and Translational Research in Alzheimer's Disease," from 1-2 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 22, in room CW106 of the Classroom Wing.
